This coming Mother’s Day weekend, MGM will be releasing The Hustle, a female-led loose remake of the 1988 film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which starred Michael Caine and Steve Martin. For this new take, our new “scoundrels” will be played by stars Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, who will hopefully add a completely unique dynamic to the property — enough so that it’ll seem like a different film altogether (They did, after all, change the title).
Now, a new trailer has hit, really playing up the female angle with its Mother’s Day release — or rather, it’s Mother’s Day weekend release. I’m honestly a bit surprised they’re playing this off as a full trailer, as it’s just a minute long and really only consists of the same footage from the first trailer. On the whole, I still have no idea if this will be a good movie or an uninspired remake…we’ll have to wait and see.
Below if the official synopsis for The Hustle:
“In the hilarious new comedy THE HUSTLE, Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson star as female scam artists, one low rent and the other high class, who team up to take down the dirty rotten men who have wronged them.”
The Hustle hits theaters on May 10, 2019. What did you think of the new trailer? Let us know down below!
