The Mandalorian: Brief Descriptions Of Episodes 4-6 + Carl Weathers On Episode 3

Friday saw Episode 3 of The Mandalorian or as we here at LRM all like to call it ‘El Mando‘. Whilst this is not about reviewing that episode, I’ll just say I enjoyed the hell out of it.

What we have below is some (very brief) descriptions of the next three episodes of The Mandalorian, courtesy of IGN.

Episode 4: The Mandalorian teams up with an ex-soldier to protect a village from raiders.

Episode 5: The Mandalorian helps a rookie bounty hunter who is in over his head.

Episode 6: The Mandalorian joins a crew of mercenaries on a dangerous mission.

I’m glad they are keeping these really brief, as we don’t want to have too much spoiled for each episode, so far the showrunners have done a good job of keeping as much of this on the down-low as possible and there have been very few leaks for this show appearing online, as yet anyway.

I am getting a Magnificent 7 vibe from next week’s episode and it’s also where we will see Gina Carano’s Cara Dune appearing for the first time this season. Let’s hope it is as good as this week’s episode was?

Talking of Episode 3, Carl Weathers played a very big part in it and he spoke with Variety recently to discuss the events of this week’s episode. Please be aware of SPOILERS below for The Mandalorian Episode 3 “The Sin,” and come back later if you have not seen it yet.

The trade asked Weathers what it was like to get out into the action in Episode 3 ‘The Sin’.

“It’s pretty amazing. There’s so much about this third episode that encompasses so much of the action genre. The first two were much more character driven and story driven, this one you get a chance for a blaze of glory, if you will, for Pedro’s character.”

He was then asked about that last action scene and how similar it felt to classic Western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

“I agree and it took quite a while to shoot — as you can see there were so many elements, so many moving parts. It really is an integral part of the story, especially in this episode with so much action, where so many new characters are revealed. There’s so much in this episode, and in general, that’s entertaining for audiences of all ages.”

I’ll also add my agreement in there, it feels like Jon Favreau and others have a love of Westerns because there are so many moments, beats, musical cues in the first three episodes to classic westerns that it just ticks all my boxes. This is a more adult version of the Star Wars universe which really capitalizes on that broken down, lived I and lawless Galaxy we grew to love in the original trilogy.
