The Mandalorian: Jon Favreau Teases The Potential Return Of Legends Characters

I know there are some hardcore Star Wars fans out there who derided Disney the second they purchased Lucasfilm and effectively erased the Expanded Universe from canonical existence. After decades of reading, these novels were effectively erased and turned into what is now called Legends…but that’s not to say they couldn’t be brought back.

Over the course fo the past several years, we’ve already seen the return of Admiral Thrawn, and with The Mandalorian on the horizon, some fans are eager to see whether or not we’ll see more Legends characters continue.

Regarding this, show overseer Jon Favreau told EW:

“I don’t want to talk about anything that might be fun for people to discover. We do have conversations. Part of what’s fun to see if we could merge the worlds of the original trilogy, the prequels, the sequels, The Clones Wars, and what’s been considered canon up to this point and what’s been considered part of Legends. I think this show offers an opportunity to bring in all those elements so no matter what your flavor of Star Wars ice cream you like there will be something to enjoy. But you’re asking the right questions.”

We recently discovered that Ming-Na Wen would be joining the project, and when asked about whether or not she’d be playing someone we already knew, Favreau only said:

“We take full advantage of her acting and her action ability.”

Well, crap. Who do you think Wen could be playing, and what Legends characters would you like to see in the series? Let us know your thoughts down below!
