The first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, is a success, to say the least. Many Star Wars fans, myself included, thoroughly enjoyed it. Personally, it felt more Star Warsy than anything in quite a while. Of course, some fans thought it was kind of meh (and those people are wrong, don’t ever let them try and convince you otherwise).
One thing missing from the series, something that is usually a big part of a piece of Star Wars content, a lightsaber, was only seen briefly in the last episode when Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon (excited to see more of this character, lots of potential there) used it to cut himself out of his fallen TIE fighter. Esposito recently spoke at FAN EXPO Vancouver, where he teased more lightsaber action in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. You can check out what he had to say below.
“The prop guys are wondering about me because I was in a bit of a commotion and a bit of a struggle with someone else, which I’m hoping you will enjoy when you see it. Major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show, and I should mention that I’m the only character in this first season who was able to be honored with having that lightsaber. So it feels wonderful.”
Who could this ‘someone else’ it be? For there to be major and epic lightsaber action, the two people dueling would have to be experienced meaning it’s a character we know, or have at least heard of, or some entirely new badass that we’ll either come to love or hate or both.
