The Russos Reiterate Desire To Direct A Secret Wars Event In MCU

Interviewed by Deadline, the Russos reiterate their desire to direct a Secret Wars event in the MCU. This of course is not the first time the directing duo have talked about coming back for Secret Wars. However as yet, the MCU doesn’t feel like it’s ready for that storyline to take place.

Many fans think Secret Wars could be one of the next big events Marvel Studios is building towards. It doesn’t sound like a project the Russos have already agreed to come back for, but who knows? One thing already seems certain, and that’s that the Russos see Secret Wars as being two movies. Check it out.

After pulling off Infinity War and Endgame it would make sense for Marvel Studios to trust the Russos with a project this big. Marvel knows the Russo Brothers can deliver when the stakes are that high. However the Infinity War story was planned quite far in advance and built to steadily. As said up top, I don’t feel like the pieces are yet on the board to set up Secret Wars anytime soon.

For a start you feel like we need to spend some time with the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, neither of which have yet been introduced. Then we have Doctor Doom, rumored to show up soon, but again, not here yet. It definitely feels like the MCU is building towards Secret Wars, but I’m thinking we are at least 3-5 years away from seeing it happen.

What do you think as the Russos reiterate their desire to direct a Secret Wars event in the MCU? Would you be glad to see the Russos return, or would you prefer someone else gets a shot at Secret Wars eventually? As always, leave any thoughts below in the usual spot, or hop over to Discord.
