Illumination Entertainment is one hell of a cash cow, churning out more hits than any other studio for the budget. Unlike Pixar, who spends hundreds of millions of dollars on their films, Illumination keeps theirs at around $80 million or below, while still occasionally cracking $1 billion at the box office — so some might say they’re a more successful studio in terms of money.
And one of their biggest hits they’ve put out was The Secret Life of Pets, a film that took in $875 million, pretty much confirming a second film would be churned out. We’ve already seen a trailer for Max, and now we’re getting another one for Chloe that sees her coughing up a furball and getting high on catnip. You know, normal stuff.

Below is the rough synopsis to The Secret Life of Pets 2:
“The Secret Life of Pets 2 will follow summer 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel to the comedy that had the best opening ever for an original film, animated or otherwise.”
The Secret Life of Pets 2 hits theaters this summer.
