What is perhaps the most famous film fauxpas in the history of cinema, the storm trooper that bang his head on the door, is now getting it’s very own moment in the spotlight. The Empire Strikes Door is a documentary that aims to get to the bottom of the mystery of who exactly was the actor that was key in creating one of the best movie bloopers of all-time.

As you can see in the trailer above, director Kevin Smith, former professional wrestler Chris Jericho,  along with actor Greg Grunberg all appear in the film from Jamie Stangroom.

Sure, I’ve seen the clip a bunch of times, as I imagine most all of you have, but I never really knew it was a mystery as to who it was in the suit. I didn’t know it was a controversy, it seems like it would be fairly easy to confirm who it was, but perhaps not.

With at least two people claiming to be the stormtrooper in question, all I can say is this seems like something that a person would always remember, someone is as they say, “Telling tall tales,” or as LRM’s own Cam Clark might say, “Porky pies”.

I heard of the film coming out a while back, but didn’t know the full idea behind it. Now my interest has moved from, “Yeah, of course I’ll watch it, it’s Star Wars,” to, “Intriguing, intriguing indeed.”
