It looks like the location for the Guardians 3 story revealed after much speculation across the last few weeks. It goes without saying that this information could be considered SPOILERS. Therefore if you are averse to any kind of confirmed information then best just wait for the movie. Alternatively, if you are happy, keep reading.
Last week I covered a slew of set photos from the end of Guardians 3 filming. We used those images to confirm that Chukwudi Iwuji is playing the High Evolutionary and that he has created a race of human/animal hybrids that populate this world. However, what confused me, was that the images all looked like this movie takes place on Earth?
Turns out, it does. However, it isn’t Earth, it’s Counter-Earth!
As covered, very thoroughly, by The Cosmic Circus, they have concluded Counter-Earth is the location of the High Evolutionary’s world in this movie. The Earth-like setting aside, there was some translation work done for the alien language seen in images. The latest image to be analysed was this one from Atlanta Filming.

The outlet has translated enough of this language to know two things about this image. First, that it says police. Secondly, that it says Counter-Earth.

Let’s go back to the comics to find out about this place. Counter-Earth in the comics was a planet designed and populated by the High Evolutionary. It was designed to be a clean, perfect Earth with no superheroes. Additionally, the denizens of Counter-Earth consisted of human/animal hybrids. Therefore, just like we see in the images taken from location in Guardians 3. These creatures, like Rocket himself are just as intelligent as any other sentient creatures in the cosmos.
The Guardians are clearly going to be visiting this Counter-Earth and one would imagine the latter half of the plot of the movie will be set there.
