The beauty and popularity of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy are over the dynamics of a dysfunctional family with superpowers. They’re a lovable dysfunctional family.

In the first season, after a family argument, each member of the Umbrella Academy retreated to separate rooms in their mansion headquarters. Luther Hargreeves (played by Tom Hopper) proceeded to play Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now” on a record player.

With that catchy beat, each member performed their solo dance routines in their separate rooms. It made for a touching scene that despite the dysfunctional part of the family—they all still have something in common.

This dance scene is so popular with the fans that Netflix integrated an announcement trailer for season two on YouTube. This recreation dance scene has all the actors re-enacting their dance moves to the same song in their safe quarantine homes. In this promotional clip, Aiden Gallagher (Number Five) and Justin H. Min (Ben Hargreeves) were added to this dance scene promotion.

In an exclusive interview this week with The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman, LRM Online asked about the pressure on creating a new dance scene for Netflix’s upcoming season two. There is a dance scene, but we won’t spoil it here so that you may enjoy binging the new season a few hours.

“It’s just a smaller one. It’s a very sweet one. But, I know the expectation was to do a huge dance sequence this year,” admitted Blackman.

He further explained, “And I didn’t want to necessarily do that. It would be too derivative to go as big as what we did last year, but I did want to do a sweet little thing. We achieved that, but every year we’re trying to challenge the audiences in new different ways. We’ll come up with a new, great thing. If we have a season three-we’ll try to do something special every year.”

I’ve seen the dance sequence, and it’ll touch your heart. The full interview with Steve Blackman will be published tomorrow. However, if you want a preview of the dance scene, then here you go.

Season two of The Umbrella Academy streams on Netflix on Friday, July 31.
