If you were you counting on learning the official title of Avengers 4 when you see Avengers: Infinity War a week from Thursday, you will be sorely disappointed. Hopefully, the film itself will rock which will soften the pain of the unknown.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, the directing Russo Bros confirmed the title will not be in the end credits. So, no, “The Avengers Will Return In Avengers:_________”
Joe Russo said the following when asked if the title would come post-credits:
“No, no. It’s going to be quite a long while before people see that title.
We need people to see this movie, digest this movie, and then we can tell them what the next story is they’re going to see.”
One would also assume that the title is not on Infinity War‘s credits because it would immediately leak. It’s even more interesting that we’ll have to “digest the movie” (which I read as “come to acceptance that __________ and ___________ and _________ are dead”). Or, maybe even 2019’s Captain Marvel holds the secret to Avengers 4‘s real title, though putting off the reveal until next March may be cutting it too close to Avengers 4‘s release.

If you remember Marvel Studios’ initial Phase 3 announcement, you’ll recall that Avengers 4 was once titled Avengers: Infinity War Part Two, but the Russos changed it once they realized how different Avengers 3 and 4 would be. In fact, Joe says Infinity War will NOT end on a massive cliffhanger:
“It’s a complete story. It’s got a beginning, middle and an end and the next movie has a beginning, middle and an end, in the same way that Civil War handed off to Infinity War and Infinity War will hand off to the next movie.
It’s serialised storytelling without question so there is going to be a correlation, narratively, but we really wanted to make two distinct movies. We weren’t interested in making one long film and getting out the scissors and cutting the scissors and cutting it in half.
We don’t find that a satisfying cinematic experience so this is a complete story, that’s a complete story, and they’re very different movies.”
Very different movies? Will both involve Thanos even? The Infinity Stones? Will Skrulls show up thanks to Captain Marvel?
There’s no better time to be a Marvel fan than now, as all this speculation is half the fun… because otherwise waiting isn’t the best.
