The Walking Dead’s Greg Nicotero To Bring Creepshow Series To Pay Service Shudder.

Executive producer of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Greg Nicotero is set to write, direct, and produce a Creepshow TV series for Shudder, the VOD subscription service that focuses on horror and supernatural content. The new series from Nicotero will be based on the 1982 horror anthology film, which just happens to share the same name of Creepshow.

General manager of Shudder Craig Engler had this to say in a statement:

Creepshow is one of the most beloved and iconic horror anthologies from two masters of the genre, George A. Romero and Stephen King. We’re thrilled to continue their legacy with another master of horror, Greg Nicotero, as we bring a new Creepshow TV series exclusively to Shudder members.”

Greg Nicotero:

Creepshow is a project very close to my heart! It is one of those titles that embraces the true spirit of horror… thrills and chills celebrated in one of its truest art forms, the comic book come to life! I’m honored to continue the tradition in the ‘spirit’ which it was created.”

Nicotero is set to direct the first episode, each episode will feature an original story as well and a different storyteller. Some exciting news for horror fans. As for me personally, horror is probably my least favorite genre of film and television, at least the blood and guts slasher type. Although I am all for a good supernatural or psychological thriller. If this sounds like your type of thing and you don’t want to wait until next year, I recommend checking out Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits and Monsters.
