The WB Dispute That Could Delay The Justice League Shoots

Just the fact that we are getting Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League is crazy enough. The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement did a fantastic job of making this happen. It’s also important to note that they also raised a lot of money for suicide prevention in the process. Last month we finally got to see a trailer for the four-part HBO Max event that will be released next spring.

In preparation for this, we have seen Snyder hard at work to “fix” the film. This even included bringing back Junkie XL to do the intended score. If that wasn’t enough there are also going to be additional scenes shot next month with some of the cast. This is where things get interesting and awkward.

Some of the cast expected to back include Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher. The fact that Fisher is supposed to be back is something that we need to pay attention to because he is currently in a very pubic dispute with Warner Brothers. He has accused the studio of allowing Snyder’s replacement, Joss Whedon to mistreat and abuse the cast while reshooting Justice League. He also claimed that Jon Berg and Geoff Johns (who are both no longer at the studio), allowed this to happen.

Since then there has been a back and forth with Warner Bros. and Fisher where one says one thing and the other fires back. But it all went to another level when Aquaman star Jason Momoa chimed in saying that, “It needs to be investigated and people need to be held accountable.” Now their negotiations for future appearances are also back and forth. First for a cameo in The Flash, which is scheduled to shoot next year.

I think that despite this dispute, he will return to do Snyder’s scenes. I believe this because of the relationship that he had with Snyder. The director has even expressed that Cyborg a.k.a. Victor Stone would be “the heart” of the film. Plus this would be a perfect platform for him to show the difference between working with Whedon and working with Snyder. But we’ll see what happens.

How do you feel about the dispute between Warner Bros. and Fisher? Could this cause a delay in the Justice League shoots? Let us know in the comment section below!
