Surprise! It looks like The Weinstein Company will be undergoing some huge changes in the foreseeable future.
Late last year, Hollywood imploded when The Weinstein Company co-founder Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual abuse by no less than 80 women. The stories were numerous and varied, but the accusations range from inappropriate behavior to sexual harassment and rape. In the time since then, the studio lost films like Paddington 2, filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, and now it sounds like the whole company culture is getting gutted and revamped.

According to a report from TheWrap, the new Weinstein Company will have private breastfeeding rooms, three free meals a day, and will promote a more open and inclusive work environment. These changes are set to be made under the new leadership of Maria Contreras-Sweet.
In addition to these changes, Contreras-Sweet is interviewing many powerful women in Hollywood to populate the new board of directors.
Perhaps most importantly — at least in terms of the whole PR angle — they will also be changing the of The Weinstein Company to something less…Weinstein-y. This is a no-brainer, as the last thing they need is for the baggage of that name to get attached to their films. No word yet on what that name could be.
What do you think of these changes being made. Is it a good move from the new owner? Let us know your thoughts down below!
