I’m sure fans of The Witcher games, and books will know who The Wild Hunt are. Whilst this group were not heavily featured as antagonists within the books, The Wild Hunt were the primary antagonists of the final Witcher game. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt was set after the source novels and honestly, I LOVED The Wild Hunt in the game. Now we know that The Wild Hunt will show up for the first time in The Witcher Season 2.
The Witcher was filming scenes for Season 2 in Devon this Saturday. The Daily Mail took some images, and you can find all of those on the following Reddit link if your prefer not to click on a tabloid link. The only image I can share with you here is the front page of the aforementioned Reddit post. For the rest of the images from Saturday filming either click the original source or the Reddit link above.

This is clearly The Wild Hunt, so what are they doing here as early as Season 2? It is thought Season 2 will mostly deal with the events of the book Blood of the Elves. The Wild Hunt do not feature in that Blood of the Elves. However there is a glimpse of The Hunt within Time of Contempt the following book in the series. It’s therefore possible that some elements of that story will be brought into Season 2 of The Witcher also?
I’ll also make a guess that the faces of the riders here will be unrecognizable in the show. If The Witcher moves all the way up to the point where The Hunt are further explored, it would allow a recast. As you can see from the image above, the actor playing who I assume is Eredin (the leader of The Wild Hunt), is unknown. Perhaps thoughts of casting Eredin are further off and this was someone simply wearing the gear for this one scene?
