The Witcher Author Was Brought To Tears During Set Visit

Now that Game of Thrones has dethroned itself as the top show on television, we await out next champion. Several candidates are in the running but one of them, The Witcher, has a lot of hype surrounding it. The series is based on the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, and will see Henry Cavill in the lead role as Geralt of Rivia.

Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich recently spoke at MCM Comic Con in London and said Sapkowski became very emotional during his set visit, you can check out what she had to say below.

“He was very excited. He was wiping tears away at some points. He was excited to see how dedicated we were. We’ve cut no corners to bring this to life. Sapkowski doesn’t want to see ingredients to the soup, he wants to taste the soup. He has access to the scripts and dailies but doesn’t want to see them.”

Myself, I’ve never read any of the novels or even played any of the video games. Having said that, I am oddly excited for the show which I very much intend to check out.
