The Witcher Season 2 shooting a big battle scene at Kaer Morhen set? Read on for more details.
According to a new report, a big battle scene is being filmed for The Witcher Season 2. We knew Kaer Morhen would be a location for Season 2. Kaer Morhen is the ‘home’ of Geralt, i.e. the Wolf School of Witchers. Going by the books, Geralt, Yen, and Ciri will journey to Kaer Morhen where many of Geralt’s Witcher colleagues are based. Also present is Geralt’s mentor and leader of the Wolf School Vesemir (Kim Bodnia).
Redanian Intelligence say that they have learned a big battle scene is to be filmed at the Kaer Morhen set. The scene they say will feature many Witchers including Vesemir, Geralt, Lambert (what a prick), Eskiel and Cohen, along with Ciri. The outlet also think that other actors will be playing unnamed (at this time) Witchers in the scene. The site isn’t sure who the fight will be against, but they do have a guess. The outlet thinks there is a good chance this battle could be against a Leshen. A Leshen is a powerful magical monster of the forest. And if anyone has ever played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you probably know Leshen’s can be scary and tricky to defeat. You’ll also get my Lambert being a prick joke above,

There’s no guarantee a Leshen is involved here. However, this outlet rarely get even guesses wrong when it comes to The Witcher in my experience. This guess is based on some other evidence they had previously of a Leshen showing up, so it’s not a wild guess either. As for those unnamed Witchers, the outlet thinks the following actors are all playing Witcher’s who may be created just for the show. Joel Adrian (Hemrick), Jota Castellano, Chuey Okoye, Max Kraus, and Nathanial Jacobs all look like Witchers and they have the training experience to act like Witchers.
One wonders if these are the ‘red shirts’ I.e. the expendable Witchers for this battle scene in order to show the level of the threat. There’s no guarantee that these actors are playing Witchers. However, all seem to be present for this battle, and since it’s set in Kaer Morhen, it’s pretty solid guess work. Non Witchers don’t really go to Kaer Morhen very often.
As for when this scene might appear in Season 2, no one knows? As you probably know, shoots are not filmed in running order but by location. It is expected a lot of Season 2 will be set in Kaer Morhen. Therefore this could be an early battle or something more climactic towards the finale. Your guess is as good as anyone’s right now.
