Check out the Thor: Love and Thunder clip from MTV Awards this past weekend. This short clip was shown at the awards show and made it’s way online soon after. The clip, for me, shows the signature Waititi humor I have come to love. Watch first, discuss second.

We see a little bit of this scene in the official trailer. However with the added score, context, and Thor’s dialogue it elevates the scene for me to another level. I love it. Thor noticing Mjolnir and calling to it like a dog is genius, only to have it snatched away and then we get that very superhero shot of Mighty Thor catching and then spinning the hammer. Brilliant!
I’ll say again, that Love and Thunder is definitely the upcoming MCU project I am most excited for, I loved Ragnarok and this looks like just heaps of fun. This will also be the only upcoming MCU movie I take my whole family to on the horizon. I see all the films with my son, but my wife and daughter also loved Ragnarok and are both excited to go see Love and Thunder.

Anyway, Thor doesn’t need Mjlonir any longer, he has Stormbreaker. Don’t be greedy Odinson, pass the magical hammer love around. Jane, aka Mighty Thor looks far more bad-ass than I ever figured she would when this movie was first announced. I can’t wait to see Thor, Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie, and of course Korg, take on Gorr the God Butcher. Thankfully we don’t have long to wait at all. Thor: Love and Thunder hits theatres on July 8th. That’s only just over 4 weeks away.
I never thought I’d be this excited for a Thor movie after Thor: The Dark World, but here we are. Waitii and Hemsworth deserve great credit for finding the perfect tone for Thor and rejuvenating his character in the MCU.
