Tim Heidecker Joins Jordan Peele’s Us

Earlier this year, Jordan Peele announced his next “social thriller” film project. The film, in which Peele will once again be sitting in both the writer’s and director’s chairs, is titled Us and has attached to it the very talented Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther12 Years A Slave), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s TaleMad Men) and Winston Duke (Avengers: Infinity WarBlack Panther). As of Wednesday, a new name has been added to the cast of Peele’s next trip into horror.

Comedian Tim Heidecker has been added to the cast of Us. Heidecker is known for appearing in BridesmaidsAnt-Man And The Wasp and the drama The Comedy. Heidecker is also one half of the comedy duo Tim & Eric. His addition to Peele’s next project could continue the trend that existed in Get Out; elements of comedy in an otherwise eerie and haunting story.

With  Get Out, Peele delivered a film that revolutionized the horror genre by adding the “social thriller” aspect, tackling present day issues inside a fictionalized scary movie. With a budget under $5 million, Get Out raked in over $225 million globally and earned Peele the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Us will reunite Peele with his Get Out producer Jason Blum, who’s company, Blumhouse Productions, seems to have its hands in nearly every new production in the horror genre.

Us is slated for a 2019 release.
