Poster Released For The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

Any teenager who grew up in the ’90s has at least some recollection to the sitcom Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, featured on ABC’s TGIF block of television and later in syndication. The series starred Melissa Joan Hart as the title character who has learned that she is half-witch, half-mortal and lives under the Wicken tutelage of her aunts Hilda and Zelda, played by Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick, respectively. The series lasted seven seasons and eventually inspired a comic book series.

The comic, Chilling Advenutes Of Sabrina, was published by the Archie Comics imprint Archie Horror in 2014 and takes place during the ’60s with Sabrina Spellman in her teenage years. While the character hasn’t appeared in the CW’s darker take on Archie, Riverdale, she will be enjoying her own tales on Netflix.

And now, thanks to Twitter, we have a poster release for the series:

The series is said to be set in the same universe as CW’s Riverdale. However, whether that means same universe but in the past is yet to be determined, since the comic takes place in the ’60s and judging by the poster, there is definitely a nostalgic look to it. The series will feature Kiernan Shipka, who played Sally Draper in Mad Men, as the title character of Sabrina, while Lucy Davis (Wonder WomanShaun Of The Dead) and Miranda Otto (The Lord Of The RingsHomeland) as aunts Hilda and Zelda, respectively.

Aside from 2018, Netflix’s Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina does not have an exact release date. However, judging by the first episode being titled “Chapter One: October Country” and given the characters featured in it, one would expect it to be released in time for Halloween.
