Titans Renewed For Season 2 Before Season 1 Even Hits Screens, Geoff Johns Hints at Deathstroke For Season 2

Last night at New York Comic-Con, audiences were treated to the premiere of the first episode of Titans. The show will be broadcast on DC’s new streaming service DC Universe. Having not been present or heard anything from those in attendance we have no word on how good this pilot episode was, but DC must feel very confident about the show because it has already been renewed for a second season already.

It was announced at NY Comic-Con last night along with some hints from Geoff Johns about who might show up in Season 2. Here is what John’s said as reported by CBM.

“I think that shows the faith that DC Universe has in the show and in this amazing cast here and the property, DC is so supportive of it. We know Season 2 already. We know everything. We actually know all the characters for Season 2. We know the story of Season 2. Marv Wolfman will be very happy with Season 2.”

OK, so what does Johns mean when he says Marv Wolfman will be very happy with Season 2. Well the report by CBM states that Wolfman was responsible for the classic Teen Titans story The Judas Contract. And wouldn’t you know it, but it just so happens that this story features the Teen Titans squaring off against a certain Deathstroke aka Slade Wilson. Now that DC movies don’t seem to be interesting in developing Deathstroke any further in the movies, it seems appropriate for them to move the character into Season 2 of Titans.

If you want to catch up with Titans then you will have to subscribe to DC Universe if you live in the USA, however, DC Universe is not launching internationally, which means Netflix will be streaming the show in various countries abroad. Sorry folks, I get to watch this on Netflix, I know this has already annoyed many of my US-based colleagues here at LRM, but it’s not my fault is it? (Editor’s Note: Yes, Cam. It is your fault.)

Are you excited for Titans and happy to hear there will be a Season 2 with Deathstroke….probably? Let us know what you think as always in the comments below.
