Titans Star Brenton Thwaites Has A Problem Saying Batman

DC Universe’s Titans first episode premiered last Friday on their streaming service. In this series we follow a grown up Dick Grayson who is currently working as a Detective by day and Vigilante by night in Detroit, away from Batman due to some differences with Batman’s methods and crime fighting approach.

Grayson is being played by actor Brenton Thwaites who sat down with MTV via YouTube where he talked about playing Dick Grayson. One interesting thing he mentioned was the fact that he did not want to say Batman on the show. Thwaites thought process was that he felt that Grayson would not refer to his mentor as Bruce rather than Batman, since he grew up with him. You can check out the video above!

Apparently this is something that he had even discussed with the writers who wanted him to consistently refer to Batman as Batman for the fans. I feel that this actually also seems practical as he would not want to reveal Batman’s real identity. Out with the Titans or just out in the field I feel like he would only want to refer to Batman as Batman and not his real name.

Here is the synopsis for the Titans series:
Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

Do you agree with Thwaites? Or should he be fine with calling him Batman? Let us know in the comment section below!
