With a Spawn reboot set for release next year, and a Venom film being released later this year, the man who contributed to creating both characters, artist Todd McFarlane, hopes one day fans will get a crossover film with Spawn and Venom. In speaking with CBR, MacFarlane revealed how the potential crossover could come to be.
“Here’s a big ‘What If.’ What if Sony distributes Spawn? Then is it possible that in the future Sony could have a crossover with Venom and Spawn? It’s possible. So, I will be presenting that possibility to the Sony executives when we get ready.”

McFarlane continued:
“And then what happens ten years down the line, when they want to do a Spawn/Venom crossover and they get the guy who helped create both those characters to direct it?. Might be kind of cool.”
While this is an interesting idea, we are still a few months out from Venom‘s release and more than a year out from Spawn‘s. While there’s nothing wrong with being optimistic, we still have to see how both these films will be received by fans, but I would assume if all goes well, this is an idea that most fans would be on board with.
