Let’s be real. In the grand scheme of things, actors really aren’t the best source for news. By and large, when it comes to those big-budget projects, they’re usually the last ones to know when and if they are happening, because of how far along in the process casting is in the overall cycle of a movie.

But, that’s not to say there aren’t exceptions. Sometimes, you have actors who become more engaged in the character, opting to take on producer roles and have direct control of them, like Margot Robbie and Ryan Reynolds did in their respective roles.

And then you have those weird outliers like Tom Hiddleston. As we know, he’s been playing Loki for many years now, and like many Marvel Studios actors-for-hire, you’d almost expect he’d be as in the dark as audiences about the upcoming Loki show, which is set to hit Disney+.

As it turns out, he knew about the show over a year ago, as he revealed to MTV News:

“I knew about six weeks before the worldwide release of Avengers: Infinity War,” said Hiddleston. “Which meant I had to go and do press for Avengers: Infinity War going, ‘Yup, that’s it guys.’ So I did know back then, but I didn’t know what the pitch [or] the story was.”

He then went on to discuss how exciting it has been to work on the “meat and potatoes” of what the series is going to be. In terms of the tone, the outlet asked if the Rick & Morty writers were indicative of what we’d be getting, and all Hiddleston said was that there would be humor in the show, which is no surprise.

of course, this version of Loki will NOT be the same Loki that died in Infinity War, but is instead a much younger, more arrogant Loki. Or at least that’s where he starts at the beginning of the show. As Hiddleston indicated in the interview, by the end, he’ll be up against a whole over series of challenges.
