Factoring in Jamie Foxx’s Instagram post where he talked about Electro, along with this Tom Holland interview while he was promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home back, it’s looking more and more likely that Foxx is indeed returning as Electro. Having said that, as far as I know, there’s not been an official statement from Sony or Marvel, at least at the time of this article.
It’s no secret that Holland isn’t good at keeping secrets, having a few spoilery reveals under his belt. The interesting thing here is Holland’s reaction when he is asked about a live-action Spideyverse. Initially he seems to go a bit overboard restraining himself. You can check it out below.

Now while I won’t say how much, I would be willing to bet Holland’s Spider-Man makes his way to another universe or two in the next Spidey film. It also would help to explain how Foxx would return as Electro seeing as how the character died in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
With the success and reception to Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, it almost seems inevitable that this is coming. Even without considering the all but confirmed news of Jamie Foxx reprising his role as Electro. It seems like the thing to do at the moment for studios. As I said in the Electro article before this one, let’s get this multiverse party started already. It just opens up so many possibilities, and it seems like the path that Kevin Feige has set the Marvel Cinematic Universe on. Maybe that’s just me seeing what I want to see, but it also feels like the next logical step for the MCU
