Tommy Wiseau Campaigns To Play The Joker

Hold the phones, folks. Forget about Joaquin Phoenix. We have some news of an even better actor campaigning for the role of the Joker in the upcoming standalone film from The Hangover director Todd Phillips.

Some fans out there have been pushing (perhaps ironically) for The Room‘s Tommy Wiseau to play the Clown Prince of Crime himself. Some have even gone so far as to create fan art that portrays the writer-director-producer-actor as such.

Wiseau himself took to Twitter to express his interest in the role, and share a piece of fan art of him as the Joker. Check it out below:

Okay. Obviously, Wiseau is ill-fitted for playing the Joker, but you can’t stop a man from dreaming, right? He certainly has the look of a Joker, that’s for sure, but I know I’m not making bold claims here when I say that Wiseau lacks the overall chops to take on the role.

This is especially the case for this interpretation of the character, which is set to be something of a gritty, ’80s crime film. There’s no way any of us would be able to take anything Wiseau says seriously…like at all.

What would you think of Wiseau playing the Joker? Okay, nevermind, that’s a dumb question. Who would you like to see play the Joker? Is Joaquin Phoenix the guy to do it? Let us know your thoughts down below!
