Like many other people out there, I had serious doubts when it was revealed that Pixar would be making yet another sequel in the Toy Story franchise. After all, Toy Story 3 was pretty much a culmination of everything a franchise like it could actually accomplish, right? I’d be lying if I thought there was more territory to explore.

And yet, here we are in 2019 with an impending Toy Story 4 film on the horizon. But what is this movie actually about? Early reports years back point to a romantic comedy starring Woody and Bo Peep, but is that the draft they ended things with? Well, it doesn’t sound like it, based on a new report from Super Bro Movies.

According to them, Toy Story 4 will feature our favorite toys again, still with Bonnie. Their world is thrown into chaos when Forky, an abnormal toy who doesn’t believe himself to be a toy, is brought in. Somehow, this leads to them heading out on another outdoor adventure to a carnival, where they meet Ducky and Bunny. “As they embark on their entertaining yet emotional journey, they will find out what it truly means to be a toy. It’s basically an existential crisis through the eyes of a toy and knowing Pixar it will likely be one to remember for years to come.”

So how does this sound to me? Well, I have two thoughts. One is that this isn’t really much of anything. I could have pretty much come up with that premise based on the teases we got already, so I’m not too impressed. However, if true, I am concerned it will be retreading some of the same territory as Toy Story 3. How will the things they learn differentiate from what they learned in that third film? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
