Trolls: World Tour Looking To Turn Everyone Into Rock Zombies

In 2016 Dreamworks released Trolls which starred Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake as voices for the two Trolls Poppy and Branch. The film did well in theaters especially for being an animated film. Trolls grossed about $153.7 million here in the US and $193.2 in international markets for a total of about $346.8 million. Not to bad being that the film had a budget of $125 million. With decent numbers like this of course it’s going to get a sequel.

On April 10th, 2020 we are finally going to get the sequel to Trolls titled, Trolls: World Tour. This past week we have received a new trailer for the film. In it we can see some more songs that will be featured in the film as they try to stop the rock troll from turning everyone into rock zombies. You can check it out above!

Here is the official synopsis for Trolls: World Tour:
Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return in an all-star sequel to DreamWorks Animation’s
2016 musical hit: Trolls World Tour. In an adventure that will take them well beyond what they’ve known before, Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and awhole lot louder.

A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), aided by her father King Thrash
(Ozzy Osbourne), wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends – Biggie (James Corden), Chenille (Caroline Hjelt), Satin (Aino Jawo), Cooper (Ron Funches) and Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) – set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all.

What is going to make this film unique is that the different musical tribes will feature cast members that will be making up one of the largest acclaimed musical talent ever assembled for an animated film. The land of funk will feature Mary J. Blige, George Clinton and Anderson .Paak. The country land will feature Kelly Clarkson, Sam Rockwell and Flula Borg. Ester Dean will bring her voice to the pop tribe while J Balvin provides the reggaeton. Anthony Ramos will provide the techno, Jamie Dornan the smooth jazz, and Gustavo Dudamel and Charlyne Yi bring the classical.

Trolls: World Tour is directed by Walt Dohrn and co-directed by David P. Smith. The screenplay was written by Jonathan Aibel & Glenn Beger, Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky and Elizabeth Tippet. The Executive producer on the film is Dannie Festa.

I was not a fan of the first Trolls film but my daughter who was five at the time of that film’s release back in 2016. With fond memories of the jokes and the music, she is very excited for the release of this next one, especially after hearing some of the songs that will be featured. So it is safe to assume that we will be watching this film in theaters.
