TV Shows I’m Excited For In First Half Of 2025

As I review a lot of TV series, I thought it a good idea to list the TV shows I'm most excited for in the first half of 2025.

As I review a lot of TV series, I thought it a good idea to list the TV shows I’m most excited for in the first half of 2025. I imagine I will be reviewing all of these episodically, plus we even have a podcast coming back for one show. So, let’s get to it. I’m going in release order. Hence why I’m only covering the first half of the year as there are still a lot of dates due to be confirmed for the second half.

Severance Season 2

Severance Season 2 premieres January 17 on Apple TV Plus. I did not review Season 1 as I was not a subscriber. In fact it was the word of mouth from people I trust that got me to subscribe just to binge watch Season 1. It was phenomenal TV.

So, for Season 2, I’m subscribed and ready to review starting January 17th. I am thinking of making this set of reviews full spoilers, which I don’t normally do. Simply because I feel like making predictions about what is happening will be a big part of the fun when watching episodically.

Check out the Season 2 trailer below.

Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 premieres on March 4 on Disney+. To say I’m excited for this one would be an understatement. Regular readers know I like dark TV and the more mature Daredevil as it appeared on Netflix was right up my street. Of course I can’t say for certain Born Again will be as good as Daredevil S1-3. However, you always have hope. The little I have seen and heard about this show all sounds positive, so far. So let’s hope for no major disappointment. Check the site from March 4 to find out what I thought of this Daredevil Reboot.

No official trailer for Daredevil: Born Again yet, though there is potato quality footage you can find online.

The Wheel of Time Season 3

The Wheel of Time Season 3 premieres with the first three episodes on March 13. I have reviewed every episode of the show thus far and all can found here on the website. My Season 2 finale review is Here, and each previous episode linked in on the related section (if you wanna trek back).

However, not only will I be reviewing the episodes weekly on LRM Online. This March will also see the return of The Dragon Reviewed, our Wheel of Time review show on the GenreVerse YouTube channel.

Check out the video below if you wish to see what to expect. There’s one book fan, me, and two brand new fans in Kyle and Christine Malone, whom regular GenreVerse subscribers will know well.

You can catch the teaser trailer below. I’m hopeful for Season 3 as it is primarily adapting the story from Book 4 in the series. For me, as a reader, Book 4, The Shadow Rising was when the series woke up and got interesting to me. I’m hopeful the same might happens for the TV series as if not, we may not get a Season 4.

As a reviewer, I thought Season 1 was a bit rubbish and badly affected by the pandemic and various strikes. Season 2 was a huge improvement, and I’m hopeful that momentum continues.

Andor Season 2

April 22 will see the debut of Andor Season 2 on Disney+. What further praise can I give Andor Season 1. It was one of the best TV series of the year, and in my opinion the best Star Wars content made since Return of the Jedi in 1983. I’m so looking forward to this one as I just know the quality will remain high.

I’m also pretty certain that The Cantina Reviews will also return on the GenreVerse channel. Given the current state of Star Wars that show has kinda fallen away. However, Kyle, Shockey and myself are all big Andor fans and I think we all know this is gonna be worth watching and discussing.

You can catch my review of Andor‘s Season 1 finale Here. and you can check out The Cantina Reviews finale discussion Here.

Ironheart

June 24 will see Ironheart finally released on Disney+. I’m definitely eager to see this one. Though, perhaps I will say it’s more curiosity than actual excitement. I mean this show finished filming ages ago and could have definitely been dropped in 2024. It was also made during the ‘bad period’ before the MCU had a giant shakeup. Therefore, I’m morbidly curious if they get this to work, or it’s another watch and forget show from Marvel? Agatha All Along was good, but little else recently has been from Marvel.

I’ll be reviewing this one, for good or ill. However, I find Marvel shows in the past have worked better when I wait and review the entire series. Agatha was the first time I’ve changed that because it was the first Marvel series that actually felt like a weekly TV series and not a long boring movie. I’ll decide what works best after I see the premier episode.

Again we have no official trailer yet for Ironheart, though there is this Disney+ preview below which has footage from Daredevil, Andor and Ironheart alongside many others.

As for what excited me most in the second half of 2025? I mean we shall see, however Peacemaker Season 2 in August is definitely on my list. Whether I will be reviewing it though, kinda depends on DC Studios. I still have not watched a single episode of Creature Commandos because there, as always with WB/D, is issues with airing it in the U.K. where I live. No channels or streamers are yet allowed to show Creature Commandos. I hope beyond hope that like The Penguin, DC have sorted something out to have Peacemaker Season 2  run with the domestic air dates. Or, I’ll happily take screeners, if anyone at DC is reading?

Let me know what TV series you are most looking forward to in the first half of 2025? Share any thoughts below, as usual.
