This week, Ms. Marvel was brought up to Kevin Feige during an interview with BBC Arabic. The Marvel Studios president said:
“We’re doing Captain Marvel right now. Captain Marvel‘s shooting right now with Brie Larson. Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort-of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
Now, whether this was just to appease his interviewer, or if Marvel is seriously considering Ms. Marvel, remains to be seen. But, once Ms. Marvel was let out of the box, several talented filmmakers jumped at the chance to bring this Pakistani-American superhero to life.

Riz Ahmed (actor in The Night Of, The OA, and Venom) made Emmy History when he became the first Muslim actor to win Outstanding Actor in the Limited Series or Movie category. Now the British-Pakistani wants to take on Ms. Marvel.
Having never written a feature before, he reached out to Mindy Kaling first, who seemed very interested…

This got the attention of Marvel editor Sana Amanat and writer G. Willow Wilson, the current team on the Ms. Marvel comic:
Mindy! So why don’t you and @GWillowWilson do a #msmarvel jam comicbook? https://t.co/0KdCJojiq0
