Last week Valiant Entertainment announced their 2019 Breakthrough lineup and their creative teams which included titles like The Life and Death of Toyo Harada, Punk Mambo, Fallen World and Killers. Today they have revealed their offering for this year’s Free Comic Book Day event which will be a Bloodshot Special.

Their book for Free Comic Book Day has also been selected as one of only 12 Gold Sponsors for the event. The cover as shown below is by Dan Brereton. It will feature two original stories that will be written by new Valiant writers Tim Seeley and Dan Abnett. This will be Seeley’s debut with Valiant as he takes on the one man army Bloodshot in a brutal new tale along with the great art of Tomas Giorello. While Abnett’s Fallen World #1 will be released just a few days before on May 1st, 2019, which focuses on the formidable, sword-wielding protector of the 41st century, RAI.

Speaking about the book Valiant publisher Fred Pierce said that, “We are absolutely thrilled to be selected as a Gold Sponsor by the Free Comic Book Day Selection Committee. The fans will love the brand-spanking-new BLOODSHOT and FALLEN WORLD stories. Since it’s a Free Comic Book Day book, we’ll be happy to refund any fan’s money who’s not satisfied.”

This is a very important year for Valiant Entertainment and their classic character Bloodshot as they get ready for Sony’s 2020 release of the film Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel in the title role. Free Comic Book Day is a fantastic opportunity for Valiant to begin to try and raise an interest in the super soldier with no past, especially with a strong writer like Seeley.
