In a recent interview Vincent D’Onofrio comments on those recent Spider-Man 4 rumors, he seems keen, but also claims to know nothing. The interview in question was with ComicBook.com, who asked the actor directly about those rumors.

D’Onofrio was asked if the intention was still from him to ‘kick Spider-Man’s ass’ in the future? This was something the actor had said previously as one of his goals for Fisk in the MCU.

“I think if the powers that be want that to happen then it will happen, you know? There certainly hasn’t been any kind of talk that it’s not gonna happen,” D’Onofrio explained. “I mean, to me that’s the direction that we should go in… But who knows? You know, you get these calls and they’re like, ‘Oh we’re doing this now.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, okay.’ You know, it’s like that.”

The outlet also asked D’Onofrio if it’s even possible he could show up in an Avengers movie? This came after recent comments from a Marvel Exec that Kingpin is the Thanos of street level MCU.

“I don’t see why he has to just be in one situation. Part of the storytelling in Echo is that his reach has gotten further. He’s gone from just controlling Hell’s Kitchen and certain stuff coming in from the ports of Manhattan, and the veins of his business are running wider across the country and I think eventually across the world.”

“So I think he is sort of in every place. I think that that’s the way I see it. I see it as Vanessa and him being quite powerful. And, so I think I really do mean everywhere. I love the fact that [Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum compared Kingpin to Thanos], by the way, because I didn’t know that he said that until you told me and that means that there’s lots of jobs to come. That’s a good thing.”

I’m not so sure Kingpin should be in an Avengers film, certainly not as the villain. Kingpin is a great villain, one my favourite for Marvel. However, he is street level and very much a terrestrial threat. For me Avengers should be up against the enemies no one else can handle alone, like Thanos, Kang, Doom, Annihilus etc.

Villain of Spider-Man 4 though, sign me up, especially if he’s not dealt with by the end of the movie.

What do you think as Vincent D’Onofrio comments on those recent Spider-Man 4 rumors? Thoughts below as always.
