WandaVision: Director Matt Shakman Talks The Pressure Of Being The First MCU Content After Endgame

In mid-January Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will begin when WandaVision debuts on Disney Plus. The show’s clever premise quickly stoked my curiosity, and with the recently released trailers, the series now has my attention.

Series director Matt Shakman recently spoke with SFX Magazine, and talked about having the terrifying honor of working on the first MCU show to debut on Disney Plus. You can check out what Shakman had to say below.

“It’s an honor, and it’s terrifying, And it is surreal, like everything else [right now]. The fact that we are the first Marvel MCU property to come out since Endgame, I never could have fathomed that when we first started working on this project… But it is a wonderful way to start Marvel’s work in the streaming world. A show that is a giant love letter to the history of television is a perfect way for the maker of the biggest blockbusters to come to television.”

WandaVision will likely be a fantastic mix of sitcom tropes, science fiction, and superheroes wrapped up in a mystery that most certainly ends with a twist? Some basic thoughts here, but Scarlet Witch and Vision are definitely in a fish out of water type scenario. The trailers give viewers glimpses of glitches, so it’s a safe bet this reality is being fabricated.

But, by who?

And for what purpose?

I would assume there’s only a handful of Marvel characters powerful enough to pull off something of this magnitude. Though the list of characters capable of creating a hyper-realistic world through the use of technology would likely produce a longer list of potential suspects.

Who is behind Marvel’s Truman Show, known as WandaVision, any ideas?? Let us know in the comments down below!
