WandaVision Finale – Director Warns Some Fans Might Be Disappointed

It’s the WandaVision finale tomorrow, and fans have built up such hype and so many theories that cannot all be correct. Therefore some fans could be disappointed by the WandaVision finale warns director Matt Shakman. Now, of course, Shakman feels positive about the WandaVision finale, he just worries that fans whose theories don’t pan out, might get bummed out.

Shakman spoke with TV Line and here is what he had to say.

“We build this show with so much love and passion and care and attention to detail, and you just cannot understand how appreciative we are that the fans have embraced it with that much love and passion and attention to detail and theories, which are incredible. And I know there will be a lot of disappointed people with some theories and some who will feel very smart, but you can’t please everybody, obviously. But I hope folks enjoy the ride.”

Yep, for every person feeling smug that they called it, there will be some feeling annoyed their theories didn’t pan out. I think that’s true of most shows that catch the public consciousness. At least WandaVision is the only the conclusion to under six hours of content. Imagine fans at the end of Lost or Game of Thrones. I was there on both, and despite your own theories, both had a disappointing climax for different reasons. With Lost it felt like it was time to end, so they made up an ending, not many fans loved it. Game of Thrones was a little different because of the incomplete books situation. I think the rough place where characters ended up in Thrones was fine, it was how they got their, so suddenly that threw most fans for a loop.

WandaVision we must remember is a cog in a machine. The story of Wanda, and what happens next to her, will be explored in Multiverse of Madness. When it comes to the MCU, their big finale was Avengers: Endgame and they damn nailed it. WandaVision is the first step of some new stories. Whilst there may still be some surprises, I think we fans need to temper our expectations for the WandaVision finale.

Still, I can’t wait to see which theories were true and which were not. The answer to these questions will not determine how I rate that finale though. What are your hopes for the WandaVision finale? Is there something things you need to happen to be satisfied? Or, will you be happy even if many questions are not fully resolved? Leave your thoughts below as always.
