WandaVision: Some Character And Plot Information On The Unique Marvel Series

The upcoming Disney+ series, WandaVision, will star Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff and Vision. The two will be placed in the setting of a classic television sitcom. If that sounds unusual to you, trust me you’re not alone. However, the unique blending of genres is definitely something fresh, if not weird, but weird in a good way.

I for one have a lot of faith in Kevin Feige, as his management of Marvel properties. For over a decade he has guided the studio down a well-received and financially successful. Feige recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and talked about what is perhaps Marvel’s most unique project yet. You can check it out below.

“It really energized everyone creatively at the studio. The notion that we could play in a new medium and throw the rules out the window in terms of structure and format.”

Elizabeth Olsen talks below about her character being given the spotlight.

“It’s been the biggest gift that Marvel’s given me, getting to do this show. You get to just focus on her and not how she felt through everyone else’s story lines.”

Yes, we definitely have a Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie type situation. It’s also pretty clear that something else is going on with the series. However, as to why Wanda and Vision are in this world remains to be seen. And I want to be there when this Pleasantville-Esque veil drops.

This fabricated reality is likely the work of a powerful entity, that might even be Wanda herself. As you may have heard Wanda’s powers are no joke, seriously, she has major boost. While the show’s Honeymooners-ish vibe is oddly intriguing, the show will serve another purpose. WandaVision will be responsible for setting in motion the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A brief synopsis from the show’s head writer Jac Schaeffer can be found below.

“We find Wanda and Vision living a blissful suburban existence, trying to keep their powers under wraps.”
