If the past few months have been any indication, entire industries can be set up around Baby Yoda. No joke, with Disney not having put the li’l guy in production in order to keep him secret, Etsy artists helped fill the void. I can’t tell you how many friends turned to the seedier parts of the web to get their Baby Yoda fixes. It’s not enough to see him on the small screen. No, we want him embodied in physical form so we can hug him, hold him, protect him, and love him.
Of course, there’s already an official life-size Baby Yoda that lots of you have wisely preordered, but is that really enough? Yes, it looks great, but does it move around and go “goo-goo ga-ga” as the character does in the show? The answer is a resounding no, and we simply won’t stand for it in this day and age. When you have Disney capitalizing on everything under the sun in their theme parks, you know it’s only a matter of time before The Mandalorian makes it in.

That’s exactly what’s going on. Speaking with In the Know, Paul Southern, senior vice president of licensing for Lucasfilm, revealed that Disneyland and Disney World are working on getting those Mandalorian characters to pop up as encounters.
“So, the reality is that we feel it’s really important for our guests at the parks to be able to meet all of our key characters on a first-hand, personal basis,” Southern said “And so it’s something we’re working on. We think it’s appropriate, and I think it’s something the guests at the parks can look forward to in the very near future.”
Admittedly, he didn’t single out Baby Yoda in the comment, but you can’t have a Mandalorian meet and great without him. My mind goes to some of the Shrek Donkey trailer at…Universal Studios, I believe (also, yes, I’m aware of how oddly sexual that sounds)? Where there’s basically a cart and his head pops out and he talks for a few minutes at a time. Since Baby Yoda is a puppet, that can be one way to go.
But what do you think? Would you want to meet Baby Yoda in real-life? Let us know your thoughts down below!
