Watch The Witcher Star Henry Cavill Read Stories From The First Book

Henry Cavill will play a Wolverine variant in Deadpool & Wolverine, plus that Eternals 2 is 'transformed' into another project

We already know that Henry Cavill has god**mn body of a Greek god, but what’s never really paid attention to is the dude’s voice. Sure, his normal voice is pretty standard, but when he starts to rasp it up for the role of Geralt, he brings a grittiness I didn’t realize the Man of Steel had buried inside of him.

That’s a grittiness you’ll be able to see when The Witcher launches on December 20, and while we don’t necessarily get a peek of it here in a new video, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of people who enjoy his reading of The Last Witch, the first book in the Witcher series.

This is honestly a piece of marketing brilliance from Netflix. Why spends tens of thousands of dollars on marketing when you can just sit the actor down in a leather chair next to a glass of scotch and tell him to do his actor-y thing.

Pan over a few pages from inside the books and insert a few shots from the show and you have marketing material.
