WB Reveals Two Very Cool Blue Beetle Motion Posters

According to a report by Deadline, Blue Beetle is tracking for a $30M opening weekend haul at the box office.

Despite being only days away from the release of Warner Bros. Pictures, ‘The Flash’, I can’t help but look ahead and be excited for the next offering from WB and DC, ‘Blue Beetle’. At one point I was nervous that this film was going to be on the chopping block but a trailer later we can be certain that we are going to meet Jaime Reyes.

We are still a few months away from its mid-August release, WB has released two very cool mention posters that you can check out below. One features a montage of all the characters and the other just the star of the film Blue Beetle.

While the Blue Beetle character goes all the way back to the end of the 1930s, Jamie Reyes first appeared in DC Comics in 2006’s Infinity Crisis #6. Since then he has been a fairly popular character in series like ‘Young Justice’ and some other animated features.

‘Blue Beetle’ will feature a Latino lead, the ‘Cobra Kai’ star Xolo Maridueña, as Jaime Reyes who becomes a superhero whether he likes it or not. What makes this special in my opinion is the fact that while the scarab will be his burden to bear, he will be backed up by his family. While in the trailer they look terrified by some of the events, they seem to always stand by his side.

Recently it was also revealed that Becky G is officially part of the ‘Blue Beetle’ cast as Khaji-Da, the alien that controls the Scarab stuck on Jaime that gives him his powers.

Here is a synopsis for DC’s Blue Beetle provided by Warner Bros. Pictures

Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab.

When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero Blue Beetle.

Blue Beetle‘ is being directed by Angel Manuel Soto and will be exclusively in theaters on August 18.
