Wes Anderson has only just recently cleansed his filmmaking palate earlier this year with the delightful stop-motion film Isle of Dogs, but that isn’t slowing him down. It looks like he’s already hard at work on his next project. And no, I don’t mean he’s currently in the development or pre-production stage. As it turns out, he’s already been behind cameras for the past week, as Indie Wire reports.
The outlet states his next flick is a live-action movie currently in production in Southwestern France. The actual details regarding the film have been under wraps thus far, but they have the first bits of news to share with us. The film is called The French Dispatch, and it’s being called “a love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th-century Paris and centers on three storylines.”

As one would expect in a Wes Anderson movie, it looks to be an ensemble piece, with Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Tilda Swinton returning to work with the acclaimed filmmaker. Joining them are Benicio del Toro, Jeffrey Wright, and Beautiful Boy‘s Timothée Chalamet. Rumored to be in the film (though unconfirmed) are Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and Léa Seydoux.
The French Dispatch will be Wes Anderson’s tenth film.
