As most fans of the show Westworld know, the series will soon return for its long-awaited second season. The brilliant show is a perfect mix of the western and science fiction genres and is based on the 1973 film of the same name which was written and directed by Jurassic Park author, Michael Crichton. Jeffrey Wright, who plays Bernard on the popular show recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly, and said Westworld Season 2 is going to be a sight to behold:

“The scale of Season 2 is just nuts, literally right out of the gate. It’s so much more expansive, it makes the first season look like a genteel kitchen drama.”

It sounds as if viewers are going to be treated to a bigger, and overall better Westworld, and as a fan of the show, Wright’s words do much for my excitement. It is likely fans will get to explore the Samurai World, which was revealed in the finale, and hopefully other new parks. If Samurai World exists, then it is possible that other worlds do as well.

One of the shows great twists during its first season was that Wright’s character, Bernard, was actually a host, working for the Delos corporation, and while it wasn’t completely unexpected, it was a mind trip for sure. Another twist was that viewers were being shown two different timelines. Jimmi Simpson and Ed Harris were playing the same character, the man in black, just decades apart. Being that the hosts do not age, because they’re robots, this was much easier for the show to pull off.

Westworld is a brilliant show and will help alleviate the long wait until Game of Thrones returns next year.
