When will Ms Marvel release on Disney+? Originally we were told by Marvel exec Victoria Alonso that both this show and Hawkeye would release in 2021. However then we started to get details on Hawkeye before Ms. Marvel, and Hawkeye doesn’t release until November 24th. When this broke I pondered this question and wondered whether this meant Kamala Kahn’s debut would be delayed until 2022. So where do we stand?

Confusion seems to be reigning over this in the last few days. First of all I heard some unsubstantiated rumors that Ms. Marvel was indeed not coming till 2022. However, I could find no reputable source for that information until I found this from TV Line.

“I asked around and it is very safe to assume at this point that Ms. Marvel is now on track for an early 2022 premiere.”

Then we have Christopher Marc, the EiC of The Ronin posting the following on social media.

Having MS. MARVEL release in October feels like the move to make but we'll have to wait to see where Disney ultimately wants to put it.

Here’s the thing, can anyone see Ms. Marvel releasing in October with no current promotion, when we have Hawkeye being promoted, and it does not release till late November? We also had an article recently covering the exclusive Hawkeye details from EW. You can see this in the related section below. In EW ‘s coverage they said Hawkeye would be the ‘next live-action’ Marvel show to hit Disney+. With that being an exclusive, it seems unlikely the trade were given false information, doesn’t it?

Given all the evidence we have, I would have to make a different conclusion to Marc here. For me, either Ms. Marvel hits in December (which makes no sense, see below), or it hits in 2022. Bear in mind that if Hawkeye begins on November 24th and lasts for 6 weeks as we’ve heard, that means a finale date of December 29th. Since all Disney+ premiere’s are now on a Wednesday, that gives us only one potential way it could hit in December. And that’s for Ms. Marvel to premiere whilst Hawkeye is still running. As yet Disney have not done this, and I don’t see that changing now.

For me then, I only see early 2022 as a possibility. We also must factor in the fact that The Book of Boba Fett begins in December already, so it’s premiere will cross over with Hawkeye. There is precedent for Star Wars and Marvel shows to air at the same time though. We currently have The Bad Batch airing right through Loki‘s run. The only other possibility, is that Marc is right, and for some reason we don’t yet fully understand, Ms. Marvel is still coming before Hawkeye. However, given the marketing, given the claims of EW, I find that hard to imagine.

When will Ms Marvel release on Disney+? We still don’t know and you are going to hear a variety of opinions. However given the logic I am applying above, is there anyone who still thinks Ms. Marvel will arrive before 2022? If I am wrong on this one, I will be hugely surprised. However, I don’t have sources like Marc says he has in the production. So there is always the chance there is a good reason why Ms. Marvel is getting a surprise early drop? I just can’t think what that would be at this time.
