Wonder Woman 1984 – Director Patty Jenkins Wants The Christmas Release To Stick, But Can’t Be Certain

HBO Max

Wonder Woman 1984 initially had a release date of June 5, 2020.  However, since then it’s been moved to August, October, and currently has a release date of Christmas day. However, with the way this year is going, I wouldn’t make any plans just yet.

Even the film’s director Patty Jenkins isn’t feeling overly-confident about it. Jenkins recently spoke with Variety and talked about how sure she is feeling about her the film’s Christmas release.  You can check out what she ad to say below.

“I don’t think anybody can be confident of anything right now. We just don’t know what the course of COVID is going to be like.”

Jenkins continues below. Speaking on how the shutdown has altered the filmmaking process.

“It’s unbelievably surreal. The biggest surreality about it is it’s supposed to be one adventure, right? You sign on to the movie, you write the movie, you direct the movie, you make the movie, the movie comes out, and you move on. Instead, like, I spent three years doing one thing, seven days a week, and then I just popped out of it to just nothing. No evidence of that [work]… I mean, that’s not true. I still work on, you know, Doritos bags and stuff like that all the time.”

While Gal Gadot was the hero on the screen, and a fantastic one at that. Jenkins was definitely a hero behind the camera. It can be argued that 2017’s Wonder Woman was huge in getting DC on the correct cinematic path.turned the tide for DC’s big-screen escapades. Jenkins started a string of films that were much more appreciated by both fans and critics than DC’s previous efforts.

Will Wonder Woman 1984 be postponed again? Let us know in the comments down below!
