Enjoyed by fans and critics alike, 2017’s Wonder Woman seems to be the marker of when the tide shifted for DC’s big-screen efforts. Gal Gadot’s wonderful portrayal of the Amazonian princess, combined with the guidance and directorial talents of Patty Jenkins was a recipe for success. The duo will return for Wonder Woman 1984.
Gadot recently spoke with Empire and talked about how her character has changed since the first film and what viewers can expect in the sequel. You can check it out below.
“The first movie was a coming of age, it was Diana becoming Wonder Woman. She was very naive and she didn’t understand the complexities of life. A fish out of water. In this movie, that’s not the case whatsoever. Diana has evolved. She’s much more mature and very wise. However, she’s very lonely. She lost all of her team members and she’s guarded. And then something crazy happens.”

Indeed she was naive to the ways of the world that existed outside of Themyscira. Personally, I feel pretty confident that what Gadot and Jenkins will deliver to us a film at least as good as the Wonder Woman. Actually, and while I can’t exactly explain why, I have a feeling they will exceed expectations and outdo the first film.
