Xbox Series X Prototype Images May Have Surfaced Online

It’s early 2019, and gamers can’t stop thinking about the next generation of consoles. While this has been quite the lucrative generation for Sony and Nintendo, one of the holy trio has left it a definitive loser. I’m talking about Microsoft and its Xbox One. Confusing nomenclature aside, they started things off on the wrong foot, with an emphasis on turning the console into an entertainment hub rather than a gaming console. As such, it’s fitting that they’re the first ones to put their console — the Xbox Series X — out there for us to take in.

The reveal came via the recent Game Awards, and it showed off all kinds of shiny renderings of the rectangular prism. But, as we all know, there’s a difference between CG renderings and an actual physical console. Will the actual console look as nice? Well, we may have our first look.

In a NeoGAF forum, one user posted a couple of shots of what looks to be a prototype version. You can check the images if you click HERE and scroll down about halfway.

I’ll admit, the plastic does look a bit cheaper than I expected it. Then again, it looks like it’s probably made with a similar plastic as the PS4 Slim. Keep in mind, if real, this is just a prototype, so there is still plenty of room for it to change.

One note is that there appear to be fans in the back. Upon its reveal, there was a lot of comments about the fan being at the top and fans worrying if it would ruin the cooling system if it was put on its side. From the looks of it, there’s another vent on the back, so hopefully cooling won’t be a problem.

What do you think of the look of the prototype? Let us know down below!
