YELLOWSTONE Greenlit For A Not So Shocking Fifth Season

Get your bags packed because we are going back to the Dutton Ranch.

Paramount Network officially announced today Yellowstone will be getting a fifth season.

In one of the most unsurprising moves in television history, Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan will be able to continue to tell the story of America’s favorite cowboys. Yellowstone has dominated television ratings since it first premiered breaking the mold of declining ratings especially for a scripted series.  The fourth season premiere was watched by 14M viewers and the finale scored 15M according to Paramount.

Along with the announcement of the new season, it was also announced that guest stars Jen Landon and Kathryn Kelly have been upped to series regulars alongside Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham and Gil Birmingham, who all are returning.

While some fans of the show thought season four was a letdown from the previous three seasons, it is safe to assume that its fanbase will continue to grow.  The record-breaking show has spawned currently 2 spinoff shows, 1883 and 6666, a dedicated podcast for the show, merchandise, along with spirit drinks.

Yellowstone’s record-breaking performance proves we’ve tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the center of the country to each of the coasts,” said Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of ViacomCBS Media Networks. “Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America’s favorite family and, this new season is sure to be another one fans won’t want to miss.”

Added Glasser: “We are honored to be able to bring audiences another season of Yellowstone. The continued growth in viewership and the recent recognition from the guilds bolsters our commitment to continue to bring groundbreaking entertainment to audiences.”
