Now the strikes have ended we have news that Deadpool 3, Captain America 4, Thunderbolts, and Blade are delayed, with extensive re-shoots rumored for Cap 4. As you know Deadpool 3 was in the middle of principal when the strikes took hold. Whereas Captain America: Brave New World (Cap 4) had actually completed principal and was thought to be further ahead.
However, the rumors say otherwise, as do the new official release dates for both. As reported by THR, Deadpool 3 moves from May, 24′ to July 26, 2024. Whereas, Captain America: Brave New World, which previously held that July date, has been moved nine months to Feb. 14, 2025. Which, I think you can agree isn’t that logical given both productions status.
Now onto movies which have not started yet and Thunderbolts is delayed to July 25, 2025 from December 24′. Meanwhile Blade has been delayed nine months from Feb. 14, 2025 to Nov. 7, 2025. I don’t think anyone truly didn’t see these delays coming as even the writing could not progress with the WGA strike ongoing until recently. The surprising one here as we know is Captain America: Brave New World, so what’s the issue?

Well, according to the Barside Buzz, this time from Jeff Sneider, internal test screenings for Brave New World have not gone too well. Sneider claims the delay is to have time for some extensive re-shoots and they could be cutting up to 3 major scenes/set pieces from the movie. You can watch the full video below, but that’s the gist of what Sneider had to say. In other Marvel news he gave a Fantastic Four casting update, but nothing knew. Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, but still no definite word on who is playing Reed Richards.
Now, what I will say is that we all know every single Marvel has re-shoots planned. It’s part of their process and it’s worked well for the studio. Then, when we get rumors of ‘extensive re-shoots’ a director always comes out later and denies that officially. However, Sneider says there are now re-shoot dates for Cap 4 planned in January (probably already penciled in), and also May-June as well.
The only official evidence we can point to is what I said up front. Between Deadpool 3 and Cap 4, you expect Cap to be ready much quicker. So if that is not the case, why?
