Like it or not, the DC Extended Universe seems to still be moving forward. Warner Bros. and DC Films may have hit a bit of a speed bump with Justice League, but if all the news surrounding the rest of the DC properties is any indication, we can expect everything to continue on, but with a bit of redirection.

Coming up next on their slate of productions is the unexpected Shazam! Sure, this has been on DC’s slate for some time, but given how much the studio is struggling with established characters, shifting to one of their lesser-known properties seems like a weird turn, especially for Warners.

That being said, the film looks to be happening — and according to actor Zachary Levi, who is set to play the superhero, he’s even seen the costume, as he revealed when asked via Twitter.

Here’s what he said:

I like it. It’s a short, simple, unambiguous answer. And in a world where everything in the DCEU seems to be up in the air, this is a nice, fresh reprieve. It also seems to confirm what both he and director David F. Sandberg have been saying for weeks — that Justice league hasn’t slowed down their development.

I really hope they go with the injustice costume design, it’s not off character it makes sense even if it’s a children’s wish fulfillment power fantasy. …. because that Alex Ross design on the top of the page…. it’s suppose to be the shaggy dog. Alex Ross’ influence for Shazzam is Fred MacMurray, the shaggy dog, the absentminded professor.

But yeah, I hope they go for more Injustice design even if I’m a Jeff Smith fanboy.
