Over the weekend director Zack Snyder released an image depicting how the villain Steppenwolf will look in his version Justice League. This is another of many treats that Snyder has dropped on fans ever since news officially came down that his director’s cut of the 2017 superhero team-up film is set to air next year on HBOMax.

This technically isn’t the first time we’ve seen the character. He was first revealed in silver hologram form in Batman v Superman‘s Ultimate Cut.
Though, to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t familiar with the original Steppenwolf design before Justice League was released. So other than the character looking like he escaped a mediocre video game, I had no issues with his appearance. I have to say this version is far more graphic mostly due to his lack of facial features. This also leads me to believe the whole film will have a much darker overall tine than what Whedon gave us.
I remember back when #releasethesnydercut was just another futile fan movement pushing for the release of a film whose existence at the time, hadn’t been confirmed. As time went on bits and pieces surfaced, and once he cast of the film got on board, the tide began to turn. And not long ago Zack Snyder confirmed it all. That his cut of the film is something that existed in some form, that he would be getting to work on completing it. And that it would be released in 2021 on HBOMax.
Zack Snyder will get to see his vision come to life, and most DC fans couldn’t be happier. Most of you know that due to a family tragedy, Snyder had o remove himself from the film. Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the film. The new cut of the movie will not use any scenes filmed by Whedon, this is said to be 100% Snyder, as was always intended for Justice League.
