The final trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom dropped recently and with it fans got to franchise veteran Jeff Goldblum deliver a modified version of his famous line from the original 1993 film. Absent from Jurassic Park 3 and the first Jurassic World film, Goldblum has returned to the franchise for Fallen Kingdom. Goldblum recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and described what it was like to come back to the Jurassic franchise.
“Delightful,” he said. “I have such a fond memory of working with Steven Spielberg and the casts of the two movies. People seem to get a kick out of my character here and there and I didn’t want to let anyone down. I was thrilled getting another chance at it. My best advice is to keep everyone away and let the volcano do its stuff. But as we know there are other agendas afoot. These people who want to misuse our accomplishments for profit or for cheap entertainment or for militaristic power? Shame on them. We must resist.”

I have to say, I like the idea of the villains attempting to weaponize the dinosaurs, I think it is an interesting way to go. Could the film have been made without Goldblum’s return? Sure, but it is nice to have him back. Ian Malcolm is as much part of the franchise as Alan Grant, John Hammond, and the dinosaurs themselves.
