Sean William Scott, who, for better or worse will probably be best know to many people as Stifler from the American Pie movies. While he has played other characters, none of them attempt to break his typecasting like the one in the trailer above. The film is titled Bloodline, and puts Sean William Scott in the role of a family man who moonlights as a vigilante, a particularly brutal one. Even though it’s been almost six years since the series finale of Dexter aired, there will likely be comparisons drawn between that series and the upcoming film.

It will be interesting to see if Sean William Scott can set himself apart from the type of characters he is known for playing, as well as setting his character apart from Dexter. While Dexter was royally screwed up and abided by his code to protect himself, Sean William Scott’s character, Evan, seems to take more liberties with who he kills, though it appears he too at least tries to aim for the bad people.

Along with Sean William Scott, Bloodline stars Mariela Garriga, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey. The film is directed by Henry Jacobson from a script he co-wrote with Avra Fox-Lerner and Will Honley.
