People Are High On Cats

For most of us, Cats is some weapons-grade nightmare fuel. However, it seems that what may be nightmare fuel to some is the fuel that enhances their drug-induced viewing of the movie. Yes, brave theater patrons are reportedly getting super-duper high on various mind-altering substances and then watching the film (see an artist’s impression below).

From marijuana edibles to LSD and shrooms, all I can say is I hope the psychedelic enthusiasts don’t have a bad trip as they’re basically playing with psychological nuclear warheads, It’s bad enough when trips go bad, but a bad trip caused by the disturbing images in Cats could be really, messed up.

The Washington Post spoke with some of the fearless folks who shared their experiences, you can check them out below.

“Cried both times. Planning on going two more times.”

“The most incredible cinematic experience of my life.”

“The most terrifying experience of my life. I swear to God my soul escaped me.”

“Vomited four times but ultimately understood the film on a deep level.”

“Had a panic attack in the middle of it . . . right after Taylor Swift sang ‘Macavity.’ ”

Most of those sound like awful times at the theater. The psychedelics could really turn the film into something truly terrifying, like if the most disturbing ideas of Stephen King, all got together and became one (like a twisted Voltron) and then took a bunch of steroids, and crack.
